400G QSFP-DD ER4 40km

The Arkoptics' 400G QSFP-DD ER4 is a 400Gb/s Quad Small Form Factor Pluggable Dual Density (QSFP-DD) optical module designed for long-haul solutions over duplex Single-Mode Fiber (SMF) optical cable.

The module converts 8x 50G 400GAUI-8 PAM4 (Pulse-Amplitude Modulation) electrical input channels (each 53.125Gbps) into 4 Single Lambda 100G PAM4 LAN-WDM optical signals and multiplexes them into a singe channel for 400Gb/s optical transmission. Conversely, on the receiver side, the module demultiplexes the 400Gb/s optical input into 4 Single Lambda 100G PAM4 WDM optical signals and converts them into 8x 50G PAM4 400GAUI-8 electrical inputs. It uses top quality Quad channel EML driver and 4 LAN WDM EML lasers together with an optical multiplexer (4 LAN WDM lines: 1295.56, 1300.05, 1304.58 and 1309.14 nm) transmitter and 400Gb/s APD array receiver. The module supports DDM/DOM optical diagnostics that provide real-time diagnostic information about the present operating conditions.

In order to minimize optical dispersion during transmission, the module must use single-mode fiber (SMF), which is used in data center interconnections, optical backbones, and other scenarios requiring high-performance network connectivity for high-speed, long-distance transmission scenarios. It is CE/RoHS certified and is compliant to QSFP-DD Multi Source Agreement (MSA), IEEE 802.3bs 400 Gbps specification.
