Description
Arkoptics provides both commercial and industrial standard 100GHz C-band 8CH DWDM multiplexing solutions, which have been widely used by many operators for WDM network access projects. All of our 8-channel DWDM Mux Demux solutions are completely passive, no power required, deployed in 1RU 19-inch chassis or suitable plug-in modular boxes. They are designed for long-haul transmission where wavelengths are packed tightly together over the C-band range of wavelengths, up to 8 wavelengths in 0.8nm channel spacing.
Our 8CH DWDM Mux Demux are modular, scalable and are perfectly suited to transport PDH, SDH I SONET, ETHERNET services over CWDM and DWDM in optical metro edge and access network. Telcordia GR 1221, GR 1209, CE, RoHS, FCC are compliant.

Rigorous Application Test
Arkoptics performs rigorous application testing in end-use conditions.

Clean Fiber End-Face
Each port will be inspected to ensure a super clean fiber surface after mounted.

Function Ports Optional
Monitoring port, 1310nm wide band port and expansion port are available.

Adjustable Mounting Bracket
Adjustable mounting brackets extend infinitely to fit rack mounting depth.

Frequently Asked Question
1. What is an 8 Channel DWDM Mux Demux?
An 8 Channel DWDM Mux Demux is a passive optical device that multiplexes and demultiplexes up to 8 wavelengths over dual fiber. It is ideal for low-capacity DWDM deployments and entry-level optical networks.
2. When should I use an 8 channel DWDM system?
An 8 channel DWDM Mux Demux is suitable when:
- Bandwidth requirements are limited
- You are starting a new DWDM deployment
- Cost optimization is important
For growing networks, you may later consider a 16 Channel DWDM Mux Demux or 32 Channel DWDM Mux Demux.
3. How does 8 channel DWDM compare to 16 channel DWDM?
An 8 channel system supports fewer wavelengths than a 16 channel system, making it more suitable for smaller networks.
If you expect moderate growth, a 16 Channel DWDM Mux Demux offers better scalability.
4. What is a DWDM Dual Fiber Mux Demux?
A DWDM Dual Fiber Mux Demux is a passive optical device used in Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) networks to combine (mux) and separate (demux) multiple wavelengths over two fibers—one for transmit and one for receive.
It enables high-capacity data transmission over long distances and is widely used in telecom and data center networks.

5. What is the difference between CWDM and DWDM technology?
The main difference lies in wavelength spacing:
- CWDM Dual Fiber uses wider spacing (20 nm), making it more affordable
- DWDM Dual Fiber uses narrow spacing, allowing more channels and higher capacity
For high-density networks, DWDM Mux Demux solutions are preferred.
