Single Mode BiDi Fiber TAP for Bidirectional PON Networks
Fiber optic networks traditionally use two different fibers one for transmission (Tx) and one for reception (Rx). In contrast, a single-fiber bidirectional (BiDi) link uses the same fiber for both Tx and Rx which in turn optimizes infrastructure efficiency.
The Single Mode LC BiDi Fiber Tap from Arkoptics is purpose-built for these BiDi environments, delivering reliable in-line access for bidirectional passive optical network monitoring. BiDi fiber taps are entirely passive in design and can assure the full transparency of the network. They would not introduce latencies or jitters into the system and ensure that there are no performance degradations. The devices support simplex bidirectional single mode connections from very long to relatively short wavelengths with an extensive scope from 1260 nm to 1620 nm.
Each Single Mode LC BiDi Fiber Tap cassette features a 50/50 split ratio and is designed for seamless integration into our MTP®/MPO Multi-Function Fiber Patch Panel systems. The modular design enables effortless creation of high-performance, non-intrusive monitoring points within your optical infrastructure.
