Air Gap Type LC/SC/ST/FC Variable Optical Attenuator, 1dB to 30dB

Light is restricted by the law of total reflection in optical fiber transmission, and it cannot be scattered out so as to maintain a certain intensity of relative stability. Once the light leaves the optical fiber carrier, an air gap is added between the optical fiber and the optical fiber, and the light will scatter out and cause the attenuation of the light source signal.

The air gap adjustable optical fiber attenuator is made using this principle. By rotating the mechanical device to adjust the distance between the connectors at both ends, the optical attenuation value can be increased or decreased between 0 and 30dB.

Air gap varilable attenuator has a ceramic alignment sleeve and can be used on both singlemode and multimode applications. This type of variable attenuator can be installed at the distribution panels or connecting two patch cords to become in-line attenuator application. Lengthen or shorten the air gap width, the user can easily adjust the attenuation value when using in conjunction with power meter.
